Dog Days is a week-long extravaganza of hot dog and soda sales dedicated to raising money for cancer research. It is the convergence of mustard and medicine, of relish and research, of hot dogs and hope. It's biotechnology on a bun! This year's event will take place May 10th through 14th.
All money goes to The American Cancer Society and Chai Lifeline.
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Chai Lifeline runs over a dozen programs that provide support for young cancer patients and their families. Each year they sponsor Camp Simcha, a summer camp in New York for children with cancer, as well as an ongoing big brothers/big sisters program, family centers, a telephone hotline, and more.
